How to save the planet

Governments are failing to implement effective climate change policies so it’s up to citizens to demand action, argues Dr Mark Diesendorf from UNSW’s Institute of Environmental Studies (IES).

His new book, Climate Action: A Campaign Manual for Greenhouse Solutions, will be launched at a free public symposium at UNSW this week (Wednesday 26 August).

Potential strategies and tactics will be discussed with speakers Senator Christine Milne (Australian Greens), Dr Sarah Maddison, School of Social Sciences and International Studies, and Dr Diesendorf. ABC science broadcaster Robyn Williams will chair the event.

What: ‘How citizens acting together can save the planet’ – free public symposium
When: Wednesday 26 August, 5.45pm for 6pm
Where: Keith Burrows Theatre, UNSW Kensington Campus
